AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 29 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO THE DIVISION OF SERVICES FOR AGING AND ADULTS WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITIES AND TITLE 31 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO THE DELAWARE COMMISSION FOR THE BLIND.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE :
Section 1. Amend Chapter 79, Title 29, §7920(d) of the Delaware Code by adding a new subsection (7) to read as follows:
“(7) The Division is authorized to solicit and accept contributions, grants, gifts, and bequests from individuals and/or organizations including, but not limited to, private foundations or alliances, non-public agencies, institutions, organizations, or businesses. All funds generated shall be retained by the Division in order to defray costs associated with the volunteer and community service activities and events of the Division. Funds received will not be used for employee salaries or benefits. All funds received are subject to audit by the Department of Health and Social Services and the Delaware Office of Management and Budget, and the employees of the Division are bound by §5806 of Title 29 when engaging in fundraising activities.”
Section 2. Amend Chapter 21, Title 31, §2104 by inserting after the word “may” where it first appears and before the word “accept”, the word “solicit”.
