AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 45, TITLE 10 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO THE PROTECTION OF EMPLOYMENT FOR PERSONS SERVING ON JURIES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:
Section 1. Amend Section 4505, Subchapter I, Chapter 45, Title 10 of the Delaware Code, by adding a new subsection (c) which shell read as follows:
"(c) No employer shall discharge, threaten to discharge, intimidate, or coerce any permanent employee by reason of such employee's Jury service, or the attendance or scheduled attendance in connection with such service. Each violation of this provision shall subject the employer to a civil penalty up to $1,000 and such order as may be necessary to protect the juror's employment."
