AN ACT TO PROVIDE A SUPPLEMENTARY APPROPRIATION TO THE UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE FOR THE USE OF THE STATE GEOLOGIST, DELAWARE GEOLOGICAL SURVEY, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ERECTING A STREAM GAUGE FACILITY ON WHITE CLAY CREEK.

WHEREAS, a previously existing steam gauge facility on White Clay Creek has been destroyed by vandals re cently; and

WHEREAS, such a facility is vital to the work done by the Delaware Geological Survey; and

WHEREAS, it is not practical to rebuild the vandalized steam gauge facility in that in the opinion of the State Police, the present site will continue to be vandalized; and

WHEREAS, relocation of the steam gauge facility downstream would preclude vandalism in the future and insure efficient operation of a steam gauge facility; and

WHEREAS, the cost of the new facility is $15,000, $5,000 of which can be obtained from the federal government, $5,000 of which can be obtained from the Corp of Engineers and the remaining $5,000 must come from the State in order to get the abovementioned $10,000.

NOW, THEREFORE:

Section 1. The sum of $5,000 is hereby appropriated

to the University of Delaware, for the use of the State Geologist, Delaware Geological Survey, for the purpose of building a steam gauge facility on White Clay Creek.

Section 2. This Act shall be considered a supplementary appropriation and the monies appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of funds in the General Fund of the State of Delaware not otherwise appropriated.

Section 3. Any monies appropriated herein and unexpended on September 30, 1975, shall revert to the General Fund of the State of Delaware.
