AN ACT TO PROVIDE A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, MOTOR FUEL TAX DIVISION, FOR INCREASED OPERATING EXPENSES.

WHEREAS, the 128th General Assembly has passed House Bill No. 130 increasing the tax on diesel fuel by one-cent per gallon, effective April 1, 1975; and

WHEREAS, all motor carriers, users and dealers must be notified of the tax increase; and

WHEREAS, such notification is not limited to mailings but includes new report forms; and

WHEREAS, the Motor Fuel Tax Division currently has insufficient funds within its fiscal year 1975 operating budget to absorb the costs that are necessary to implement the provisions of House Bill No. 130; and

WHEREAS, the shortage of funds are in the areas to cover postage and printing of new forms; and

WHEREAS, the Motor Fuel Tax Division can absorb certain costs to include labor and data processing time;

NOW, THEREFORE:

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Delaware:

Section 1. The sum of $2,000 is hereby appropriated to the Department of Public Safety, Motor Fuel Tax Division, to cover expenses incurred as a result of the tax increase on diesel fuel. The appropriated amount to be distributed as follows:

Contractual Services $2,000

Section 2. This Act shall be considered a supplemental appropriation and shall be paid out of the General Fund monies by the State Treasurer not otherwise appropriated. Any funds remaining unexpended as of June 30, 1975, shall revert to the General Fund.
