AN ACT MAKING A SUPPLEMENTARY APPROPRIATION TO GERIATRIC SERVICES OF DELAWARE, INC.

WHEREAS, Geriatric Services of Delaware, Inc., a non-profit social agency, annually helps approximately 1, 574 aged, blind and disabled Delaware residents avoid institutionalization as long as possible; and

WHEREAS, this annual deficit is approximately ten percent of its $500,000.00 budget or $50,000; and

WHEREAS, Geriatric Services of Delaware, Inc., must raise at least $25,000 immediately in order to have time to raise the balance of this deficit; and

WHEREAS, Geriatric Services of Delaware, Inc., has in the past year provided services and assistance to the Division of Social Services without a fee for adult foster care, counseling and referral to other clients of the Division; and

WHEREAS, services were also provided to patients at the Delaware State Hospital and Governor Bacon Health Center at half the actual cost; and

WHEREAS, Geriatric Services of Delaware, Inc., is requesting a $25,000 grant-in-aid from the General Assembly of Delaware; and

WHEREAS, the request for $25,000 grant-in-aid is the same amount as granted in fiscal 1974 and half of the amount granted in fiscal 1972.

NOW, THEREFORE:

Delaware [threelourths of all the members elected to each House thereof concurring therein]:

Section 1. The sum of $25,000 is hereby appropriated to Geriatric Services of Delaware, Inc., to help alleviate its current fiscal problems. Geriatrics Services of Delaware, Inc., shall submit to the General Assembly a full accounting of the expenditures of said funds.

Section 2. This Act is a supplementary appropriation act for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 1975, and the funds herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer from the General Fund of the State of Delaware from monies not otherwise appropriated.
