CHAPTER 137 - SALARIES OF CERTAIN COUNTY OFFICERS-SUSSEX COUNTY
AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 53, REVISED CODE OF DELAWARE, 1935, AS AMENDED BY CHAPTER 120, VOLUME 43, LAWS OF DELAWARE, ENTITLED "SALARIES OF CERTAIN COUNTY OFFICERS" IN RELATION TO DEPUTIES AND CLERKS OF CERTAIN COUNTY OFFICES OF SUSSEX COUNTY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met:
Section 1. That Chapter 53 of the Revised Code of Delaware, 1935, as amended by Chapter 120, Volume 43, Laws of Delaware, be and the same is hereby further amended by repealing and striking out all of paragraph nine of 1598. Section 7 relating to Sussex County, as the same appears on page 367, Volume 43, Laws of Delaware and inserting in lieu thereof a new paragraph as follows:
Provided, however, that the Levy Court of Sussex County, from time to time, may authorize and direct that any, either or all of the said officers may select and employ such other clerks and at such times and in such numbers, as the said Levy Court of Sussex County shall deem proper to properly perform the public work required in any office or offices of any, either or all of the said officers.
Section 2. That Chapter 53 of the Revised Code of Delaware, 1935, as amended, be and the same is further amended by adding the following new paragraph at the end of 1598. Section 7, thereof:
And provided, further, that the Levy Court of Sussex County may, in addition to the salaries above stated of the Deputies and Clerks of the offices of Sussex County, authorize additional compensation for said Deputies and Clerks as may, in the judgment of the Levy Court of Sussex County, be necessary; provided that any additional compensation so authorized for the Deputies shall be the same for all Deputies, and any additional compensation so authorized for the Clerks shall be the same for all Clerks.
