CHAPTER 67 - APPROPRIATION - TEACHERS SALARY INCREASES

AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE INCREASE IN THE SALARIES OF SCHOOL TEACHERS OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE AND MAKING APPROPRIATION THEREFOR.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met:

Section 1. The salary of each and every free public school teacher and principal of the public schools in the State now or hereafter employed as such, and none other, excluding those whose salaries are Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00), or more, is hereby increased in the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) above the amount or sum of money which each such now receives under his or her written contract and/or which he or she or any of them will be entitled to receive under and by virtue of any other legislation, by whatever name known, passed at this or any prior session of the General Assembly.

Section 2. That the sum of One Hundred Sixty-five Thousand Dollars ($165,000.00) is hereby appropriated to the State Board of Education for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1945 and ending June 30, 1946 and a like sum is hereby appropriated for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1946, and ending June 30, 1947.

The State Treasurer shall pay the same from time to time upon vouchers drawn by the State Board of Education for the purposes hereinbefore set forth in monthly payments in the same manner and at the same time that said teachers and principals now receive their salaries.

Section 3. The money herein appropriated shall be allocated by the State Board of Education to the Board of Public Education in Wilmington, and to each of the Boards of Education of the Special School Districts, and to the State Board of Education for School Districts in accordance with the provisions hereof.

Section 4. This Act shall be known as a Supplementary Appropriation Act and the funds hereby appropriated shall be paid: out of the General Fund of the State Treasury not otherwise appropriated.
