AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 15 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO ELECTIONS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE :

WHEREAS reapportionment split the election district that had voted at Saint Hedwig’s Catholic Church between the 2nd and 3rd Representative Districts;

WHEREAS some voters in the 2nd Representative District who previously had voted at Saint Hedwig’s Catholic Church have requested through elected officials and by petition that their desire to have their Polling Place changed back to Saint Hedwig’s Catholic Church; and

WHEREAS the means of accomplishing the request of the voters is to create a new Election District;

WHEREAS Delaware Code, Title 15, § 4103 (c) and § 4105 (c) require Election Districts to be divided and designated before March 1 in the year of an election; and

WHEREAS the Department of Elections for New Castle County has no objection to the creation of this new Election District

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:

Section 1. The Department of Elections for New Castle County is hereby authorized to create an Election District from the area of the 2nd Representative District that shall comprise that portion of the City of Wilmington bounded by a line beginning at the intersection of Linden ST and S Broom ST, thence in a clockwise direction southerly along the centerline of S Broom ST to the intersection with Maple ST, thence easterly along the centerline of Maple ST to the intersection with S Franklin ST, thence southerly along the centerline of S Franklin ST to the intersection with Oak ST, thence easterly along the centerline of Oak ST to the intersection with Maryland AVE, thence northeasterly along the centerline of Maryland AVE to the intersection with Linden ST, thence westerly along the centerline of Linden ST to the place of the beginning.
