AN ACT TO AMEND AN ACT BEING CHAPTER 170, VOLUME 57, LAWS OF DELAWARE, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "AN ACT TO REINCORPORATE THE CITY OF LEWES" TO AMEND SECTION 8. ORGANIZATION AND ANNUAL MEETING OF COUNCIL, BY ADDING A NEW SUBSECTION PROVIDING FOR AUTHORITY TO SET COMPENSATION FOR THE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF CITY COUNCIL.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE (Two-thirds of all members elected to each house thereof concurring therein):
Section 1. Amend Chapter 170, Volume 57, Laws of Delaware as amended, by inserting in Section 8 the following to be designated as subsection (c):
“(c) The Mayor and each other member of City Council shall receive as compensation such amount as shall be determined by the Mayor and City Council by ordinance or resolution for fulfilling his or her duties and for attendance at any regular meeting, special meeting, workshop meeting, public hearing or committee meeting. The time of payment shall be determined by the Mayor and City Council.”.
