AN ACT TO AMEND VARIOUS TITLES OF THE DELAWARE CODE BY UPDATING AND REPLACING REMAINING REFERENCES TO THE "DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION", THE "SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION", AND THE "STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION".
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE :
Section 1. Amend §108(a)(3), Title 1 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 2. Amend §108(a)(3), Title 1 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Superintendent of Public Instruction” from the first sentence thereof, and replacing the same with the words “Secretary of Education”.
Section 3. Amend §108(a)(3)(g), Title 1 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 4. Amend §1801(11), Title 2 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 5. Amend §6058(b), Title 7 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 6. Amend §7804(a)(1)(f), Title 7 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Superintendent of the Department of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Secretary of Education”.
Section 7. Amend §125, Title 8 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Superintendent of Public Instruction” both times it appears in the second paragraph thereof, and replacing the same with the words “Secretary of Education”.
Section 8. Amend §901(14), Title 10 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Board of Education” in said paragraph, and inserting the words “Department of Education, with the approval of the State Board of Education.”
Section 9. Amend §8402(b), Title 11 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Superintendent of the Department of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Secretary of Education”.
Section 10. Amend §8570(4), Title 11 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 11. Amend §8571(i), Title 11 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “State Board of Education” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “State Department of Education”.
Section 13. Amend §124A(g), Title 14 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “State Board” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 14. Amend §1053(b), Title 14 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “State Superintendent of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Secretary of Education”.
Section 15. Amend §8501(1), Title 14 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Board of Education” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 17. Amend §8902A(a), Title 14 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 18. Amend §2205(4), Title 16 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 19. Amend §132(f), Title 17 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 20. Amend §3302(15)(B)(ii), Title 19 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 21. Amend §2708(a)(1), Title 21 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction (DPI)” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 22. Amend §2708(a)(3), Title 21 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” from wherever they appear in said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 23. Amend §2708(e), Title 21 of the Delaware Code by deleting the word “DPI” wherever it appears in said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “the Department of Education”.
Section 24. Amend §2709(a), Title 21 of the Delaware Code by deleting the word “DPI” wherever it appears in said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 25. Amend §2709(b), Title 21 of the Delaware Code by deleting the word “DPI” and the words “State Board of Education” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 26. Amend §4166(h), Title 21 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “State Superintendent of Public Instruction” from the last sentence of said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Secretary of Education”.
Section 27. Amend §6826(b), Title 21 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 28. Amend §8302(b), Title 21 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “State Superintendent of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Secretary of Education”.
Section 29. Amend §3519(d), Title 24 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” wherever they appear in said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 30. Amend §1701(a), Title 28 of the Delaware code by deleing the words “Department of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 31. Amend §3201(c), Title 29 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” from the second sentence of said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 32. Amend §5301(c)(1), Title 29 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 33. Amend §5501(a)(1)(b), Title 29 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 34. Amend §5501(b)(5),Title 29 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 35. Amend §6356, Title 29 of The Delaware Code by deleting the words “State Superintendent of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Secretary of Education”.
Section 36. Amend §7528(a), Title 29 of the Delaware code by deleting the words “Board of Education” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education, with the approval of the State Board of Education”.
Section 37. Amend §7528(b), Title 29 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Board of Education” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 38. Amend §7528(c), Title 29 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Board of Education” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 39. Amend §7528 (d), Title 29 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Board of Education” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 40. Amend §7529(c), Title 29 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Board of Education” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 41. Amend §7529(d), Title 29 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Board of Education” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education, with the approval of the State Board of Education”.
Section 42. Amend §9202(10), Title 29 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 43. Amend §321(a), Title 31 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Superintendent of Public Instruction” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Secretary of Education”.
Section 44. Amend §404(b), Title 31 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction (DPI)” from said paragraph, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
Section 45. Amend §908, Title 31 of the Delaware Code by deleting the words “Department of Public Instruction” from the title and the body of said section, and replacing the same with the words “Department of Education”.
