AS AMENDED BY HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:
Section 1. Amend §1141, Chapter 11, Title 9, of the Delaware Code by striking the phrase "second Tuesday in January" wherever it appears therein and substituting in lieu thereof the phrase "first Wednesday in November".
Section 2. Amend §1165(a)(1), (a)(1)(b) and (d), Chapter 11, Title 9, of the Delaware Code by striking the number "12" as it appears therein and substituting in lieu thereof the number "6".
Section 3. Amend § 1165(a), Chapter 11, Title 9, Delaware Code by adding at the end of the first sentence thereof the following new sentences:
“For the general election in 2002 the County Council shall redistrict the county into 7 councilmanic districts, including 1 district comprising all of New Castle County for the election of the President of the county government.".
Section 4. Amend § 1141, Chapter 11, Title 9, Delaware Code by striking the phrase “2nd Tuesday in January” wherever it appears therein and substituting in lieu thereof the phrase “first Wednesday in November”.
