AS AMENDED BY HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1
AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 15, TITLE 13 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO MARITAL PROPERTY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:
Section 1. Amend §1513(a)(9), Title 13, Delaware Code by deleting the following words:
bequest, devise or descent"
Section 2. Amend §1513(b), Title 13, Delaware Code by renumbering paragraphs "(1)",
"(2)" and "(3)" as "(2)", "(3)" and "(4)" respectively.
Section 3. Amend §1513(b), Title 13, Delaware Code by adding thereto a new paragraph (1) to read as follows:
"(I) Property acquired by an individual spouse through bequest, devise or descent."
Section 4. Amend §1513(c), Title 13, Delaware Code by deleting the paragraph number
"(3)" as it appears therein and inserting in lieu thereof the paragraph number "(4)".
Section 5. This Act shall become effective with respect to petitions for divorce filed on or after the effective date of this Act.
