AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 2t, TITLE 21, OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO THE REGISTRATION OF NEW VEHICLES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE (Three-fifths of all members elected to each House thereof concurring therein):

Section 1. Amend §2109, Chapter 21, Title 21, of the Delaware Code by adding a new subsection (c) to read as follows:

"(c) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsections (a) and (b) of this section. any newly manufactured motor vehicle with a gross registered weight of 10,000 pounds or Ices not previously registered or titled in any state or country, at the option of the owner, may initially be registered for 3 years and the effective date of registration shall be the first day of the month in which the vehicle is registered and the required Ices paid. If this option Is selected, the registration fee shall be 3 times the annual registration fee. Thereafter, registration shall be performed on an annual basis."

Section 2. This Act shall become effective 90 days after its enactment into law.
