WHEREAS, it is significant to note that all of the other United Nations will be celebrating with us on our American Flag Day, June 14, 1943; and

WHEREAS, the period June 8-14 has been designated as Flag Week by the United States Flag Association, during which time suitable patriotic exercises will be conducted and loyal Americans will renew their allegiance to the ideals symbolized by our Flag and reaffirm their faith in the institutions of American Democracy embodied in our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Walter W. I do further invite the Defense Councils in the municipalities and * towns throughout the State of Delaware, to participate by appropriate means in this world-wide celebration of the free people and suggest that patriotic ceremonies be conducted as a public expression of our belief in a national solidarity that gives first consideration to the welfare of our Country and respect for our Flag and flags of those countries which stand united in the cause of liberty and human rights.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Delaware to be hereunto affixed, this fourteenth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and forty-three, and of the Independence of the United States of America, the one hundred and sixty-seventh.
