CHAPTER 288 - MOTOR VEHICLES EXPIRATION OF ANNUAL LICENSES

AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 165 OF THE REVISED CODE OF DELAWARE, 1935, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES BY PROVIDING FOR THE EXPIRATION OF ANNUAL LICENSES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met:

Section 1. That Chapter 165 of the Revised Code of Delaware, 1935, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out and repealing all of 5603 Section 65 of said Chapter as amended, and by inserting in lieu thereof the following:

5603. Sec. 65. Expiration of Annual License.

(a) Every annual operator's and chauffeur's license issued hereunder shall expire on May 31 of each year and shall be renewed annually upon application and payment of the fees required by law, such renewal to take effect on the first day of June in each year; provided that the Department, in its discretion, may waive the examination of any such applicant previously licensed under this Chapter.

(b) Every permanent operator's and chauffeur's license issued under the provisions of Sections 51 and 57 of this Act shall constitute a permanent operator's or chauffeur's license, and shall not expire until or unless otherwise revoked, cancelled or suspended as provided by Sections, 66, 67, 68, 81, 107, 159 and 168 of this Chapter.
